About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, operate, monitor, and repair utilities and related central plant equipment
  • Respond to maintenance requests from hospital, clinic, and supporting facilities
  • Maintain the central plant in good, clean working condition
  • Perform preventive maintenance and schedule and complete corrective maintenance
  • Document all activities and maintenance
  • Answer the phone properly, identify the department, and resolve requests
  • Complete preventive maintenance and work requests promptly using the proper work order form
  • Monitor and operate power plant equipment through visual inspection and adjustment for maximum efficiency
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot engineering equipment and systems according to manufacturers' maintenance and operating parameters
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the Energy Management System by adjusting heating/cooling schedules according to building loads
  • Perform building rounds and equipment inspections, accurately enter round sheet data, and report problems to the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with water treatment for heating and cooling systems
  • Experience using HVAC/Temperature controls
  • Experience with Energy Management Systems
  • Computer Operations experience
  • OSHA Basic
  • NFPA70E
  • Basic math skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful conditions
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Preferred: Associates degree in Operating Engineering
  • Ability to travel 0-5% of the time to job site(s)/office location
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to move in different positions and work in tight and confined spaces
  • Ability to repeat motions involving the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
  • Ability to work outdoors in precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind
