About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day field operations of assigned projects
Maintain a safe and secure work environment through job safety analyses, safety meetings, incident investigations and employee involvement
Provide key leadership direction for field operations in conjunction with project management
Coordinate and supervise all construction activities
Manage field personnel priorities, staffing levels, hiring coordination, performance reviews, salary recommendations and internal personnel issues
Coordinate site construction activities and supervise field personnel to complete projects on schedule and within budget
Maintain high-quality work and administer construction safety practices
Perform material take-offs, tool order requisitions and equipment rental requisitions
Coordinate installation between trades and subcontractor progress
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company work rules, and legal requirements
Schedule equipment deliveries and inspections by governing authorities
Ensure work quality meets project requirements and company standards
Conduct staff meetings addressing management issues, safety and productivity improvements
Manage project financial labor, material and other cost-type budgets and goals
Coordinate start-up and commissioning according to company and project standards
Assist with drafting resources and fabrication/manufacturing quality assurance
Maintain company culture and customer satisfaction
Implement field productivity improvements and ensure project compliance and quality assurance

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of verifiable experience as a Superintendent on plumbing and/or HVAC commercial construction projects
At least 5 years of experience in commercial construction (hospitals, high rise hotels, casino’s, office buildings, etc.)
At least 6 months of safety training and current OSHA 10 OR 30 certification
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Climbing stairs
Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds
Elevated and/or cold temperature environments for prolonged periods of time
