About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Manager or above, Accounts Receivable, in developing department team members
  • Assist Accounts Receivable Specialists with problematic claims and process questions
  • Assign work and meet KPI/SLAs for assigned clients
  • Implement short- and long-term plans to improve revenue and denial trends
  • Work with insurance companies and government payers to identify reasons for unpaid or denied claims
  • Collaborate with Coding, Billing, Revenue Integrity, and other departments
  • Oversee team human resource functions, including hiring, terminations, and performance management
  • Supervise daily departmental workflow and monitor denied-payment and unpaid-claim trends
  • Review high-dollar accounts, action logs, reports, budgets, productivity, and quality standards
  • Conduct team huddles and lead Team DIBS meetings
  • Establish departmental goals and improve operations, customer satisfaction, and financial performance
  • Conduct monthly one-to-one performance reviews and document issues in Workday
  • Review time management, approve timecards, and verify Workday roster assignments
  • Collect, interpret, and communicate performance data to support operational decisions
  • Work with internal and external customers and ancillary departments to achieve revenue cycle goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CRCR certification upon hire or within 9 months of hire, or another approved job-relevant certification
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in medical collections, physician/hospital operations, AR Follow-up, denials & appeals, compliance, provider relations, or professional billing preferred
  • 4-year college degree listed among expected qualifications
  • Knowledge of claims review and analysis
  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle
  • Experience working the DDE Medicare system and using payer websites to investigate claim statuses
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and/or insurance claim terminology
  • Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and management of teams using AI
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
  • Must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require
