About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform benefit education and validation for inpatient patients
  • Review inpatient benefits face to face, obtain authorization, and collect inpatient, observation, and outpatient-in-a-bed liabilities
  • Assess and collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and balances after financial assistance
  • Verify patient insurance and financial information to determine liability
  • Communicate face to face with patients during their stay to collect estimated liabilities
  • Work assigned patient access, insurance eligibility, and follow-up reports
  • Facilitate daily in-house call reviews to validate payor sources and account authorizations
  • Complete pre-registration and registration tasks and attempt to collect financial liability
  • Monitor missed collection opportunities and make at least three daily room-visit attempts when patients are unavailable
  • Note all accounts with patient liability daily
  • Make follow-up calls to patients unable to pay while in-house
  • Send post-discharge letters detailing estimated liability and payment options
  • Obtain patient signatures on consent to treat, observation, Important Message from Medicare, and registration-related forms
  • Assist with insurance verification, Medicaid and charity processing, and related tasks
  • Run a daily census to identify patients with potential eligibility
  • Collect and organize outpatient orders for current and future dates of service using Revenue Cycle system queues
  • Perform duties according to Ensemble policies, processes, mission, and regulatory compliance requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI, to explore better processes and improve patient and client experiences
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) required within 6 months of hire; company paid
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
  • May require availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
