About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for hospital services
  • Assign accurate MRNs and complete medical necessity/compliance checks
  • Provide patient instructions and collect insurance information
  • Receive and process physician orders
  • Operate the telephone switchboard
  • Meet point-of-service collection goals, including past-due balances and payment plan options
  • Conduct quality audits of accounts and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership
  • Pre-register patient accounts and obtain demographic, insurance, and financial-liability information
  • Explain consent and patient education forms and obtain required signatures
  • Review insurance eligibility and enter benefit data to support collections and clean claims
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required forms
  • Provide excellent customer service while meeting regulatory and organizational requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire
  • Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States
  • Ability to work on-site at RSFH - Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, SC
