About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for hospital services
- Assign accurate MRNs
- Complete medical necessity and compliance checks
- Provide patient instructions and collect insurance information
- Receive and process physician orders
- Operate the telephone switchboard
- Provide compassionate customer service
- Meet assigned point-of-service goals
- Use quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts
- Conduct account audits and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership
- Pre-register patient accounts before visits
- Make inbound and outbound calls to obtain demographic, insurance, and patient financial information
- Collect point-of-service payments and past-due balances, including payment plan options
- Explain consent and patient education forms and obtain signatures
- Review insurance eligibility and select insurance plan codes
- Enter benefit data to support collections and billing
- Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required forms
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of customer service experience
- High School Diploma/GED required
- CRCR required within 9 months of hire (company paid)
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI
- Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States
- Must be able to work on-site at RSFH - Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, SC
- Must be available for the full-time 10:30am–7pm schedule
