About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform admission duties for patients admitted for hospital services
  • Assign accurate MRNs and complete medical necessity and compliance checks
  • Provide patient instructions and collect insurance information
  • Receive and process physician orders
  • Operate the telephone switchboard
  • Provide customer service to patients, clients, and colleagues
  • Pre-register patient accounts and obtain demographic, insurance, and financial-liability information
  • Collect point-of-service payments and past-due balances, including payment-plan options
  • Explain consent and patient education forms and obtain signatures
  • Review insurance eligibility and enter benefit data to support point-of-service collections and clean claims
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required forms
  • Conduct account audits, correct accounts, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • CRCR Certification (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) required within 6 months of hire; company paid
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Must demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
  • Must be able to work on-site at Bon Secours - Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Virginia
