About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for hospital services
  • Assign accurate medical record numbers (MRNs)
  • Complete medical necessity and compliance checks
  • Provide patient instructions and collect insurance information
  • Receive and process physician orders
  • Operate the telephone switchboard
  • Provide compassionate customer service
  • Meet assigned point-of-service goals and collect payments and past-due balances
  • Conduct pre-registration and obtain demographic, insurance, and financial-liability information
  • Explain consent and patient education forms and obtain signatures
  • Review insurance eligibility and select applicable plan codes
  • Enter benefit data to support point-of-service collections and billing processes
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required forms
  • Conduct account audits, ensure documentation accuracy, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • CRCR required within 6 months of hire; company paid
  • Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
  • Must be able to work onsite at Covenant - St Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH
  • Available to work Tuesday through Saturday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
