About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for hospital services
  • Assign accurate MRNs
  • Complete medical necessity and compliance checks
  • Provide patient instructions and customer service
  • Collect insurance information and process physician orders
  • Operate the telephone switchboard
  • Meet assigned point-of-service goals
  • Use quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts
  • Conduct account audits and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership
  • Pre-register patient accounts before visits
  • Make inbound and outbound calls to obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information
  • Collect point-of-service payments and past-due balances, including payment plan options
  • Explain consent forms and obtain required signatures and witness information
  • Distribute patient education documents and required forms
  • Review insurance eligibility responses and enter benefit data to support collections and billing
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute/document ABNs and other forms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • CRCR required within 9 months of hire (Company Paid)
  • Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI
  • Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States
  • Must be able to work on-site at RSFH - Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, SC
  • Must be available for the part-time schedule of Thursday and Friday, 7:00am–7:30pm
