About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform admitting duties for patients admitted for hospital services
- Assign accurate medical record numbers and complete medical necessity/compliance checks
- Provide patient instructions and collect insurance information
- Receive and process physician orders
- Operate the telephone switchboard
- Provide compassionate customer service
- Meet assigned point-of-service goals and collect patient balances
- Conduct quality audits and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership
- Pre-register patient accounts and obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information
- Explain consent and patient education forms, obtain signatures, and distribute required documents
- Review insurance eligibility and enter benefit data to support point-of-service collections and billing
- Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute/document designated forms
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of customer service experience
- High School Diploma/GED required
- CRCR required within 9 months of hire; company paid
- Must be able to work on-site
- Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
- Must demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI
- Must meet regulatory compliance requirements
