About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform admitting duties for patients admitted for hospital services
  • Assign accurate medical record numbers (MRNs)
  • Complete medical necessity and compliance checks
  • Provide patient instructions and excellent customer service
  • Collect and process insurance information and physician orders
  • Operate the telephone switchboard
  • Meet assigned point-of-service goals
  • Conduct account quality audits and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership
  • Pre-register patient accounts and obtain demographic, insurance, and financial liability information
  • Collect point-of-service payments and past-due balances, including payment-plan options
  • Explain consent and patient education forms and obtain required signatures
  • Review insurance eligibility responses and select applicable insurance plan codes
  • Enter benefit data to support point-of-service collections and billing processes
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute and document required forms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • CRCR required within 9 months of hire
  • Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
  • Must be able to work onsite at Children's Minnesota - Minneapolis Hospital in Minneapolis, MN
  • Must meet regulatory compliance requirements
