About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, develop, organize, and manage the Patient Access department
  • Manage operations for admitting, registration, and financial services departments at acute care locations
  • Ensure accurate MRN assignment, medical necessity and compliance checks, patient instructions, insurance information collection, physician order processing, and customer service
  • Manage Financial Service Representatives and ensure accounting processes, cash drawer balancing, timely deposits, accurate patient-account posting, and completion of logs
  • Develop and manage departmental staffing needs
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Establish departmental goals to optimize performance, improve operations, increase customer satisfaction, and meet financial goals
  • Coordinate employee schedules for adequate daily staffing coverage
  • Collect, interpret, and communicate performance data using various tools and systems
  • Make decisions to achieve performance goals and address organizational or patient needs
  • Work with internal and external customers on key organizational or patient decisions
  • Collaborate with ancillary departments to achieve revenue cycle goals
  • Assist in developing dyad-reporting patient access staff
  • Provide training, education, goal setting, and performance interventions
  • Align processes and procedures with Ensemble Health Partners policies in collaboration with the Director of Patient Access

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Healthcare Management/Administration (preferred education)
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ management experience in the healthcare industry
  • Patient Access experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft is a must
  • Ability to prioritize numerous competing priorities
  • Ability to master numerous computer applications
  • Sufficient information technology knowledge to work with the IT department
  • Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and Call Center experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and management of teams using AI
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States
