About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support strategic planning, performance management, and reporting, including data collection, analysis, performance metrics, quarterly and annual reporting, and data visualizations
- Coordinate writing and revision of business rules for tracking environmental restoration projects
- Organize and lead team meetings to gather database-user input on business rules
- Perform data management and QA/QC for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance
- Query, analyze, and troubleshoot data in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power BI, and associated data sources
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, data models, and visualizations
- Support Power Apps and related data processes, troubleshoot application data issues, and improve data collection and workflows
- Support administration and enhancement of the Restoration and Conservation Database, including user access, reporting, data requests, and data-quality activities
- Translate program and reporting needs into database, application, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate with program staff and technical developers
- Develop and execute test plans and support UAT for database and Power Platform functionality
- Develop procedures, documentation, business rules, and training materials
- Provide training and technical assistance to users
- Analyze program data to identify trends, measure performance, and communicate accomplishments and outcomes
- Support Restoration Center programs and workgroups addressing performance measures, monitoring information, data management, and process improvements
- Provide data visualization, reporting, and analytical support using Power BI, Tableau, GIS, or other applicable tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with six to eight years of specialized professional experience in data analysis, database administration, information management, business intelligence, performance reporting, or a related field
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power BI, and advanced Excel and Google Sheets experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform data queries, data QA/QC, validation, and troubleshooting within Power Platform environments
- Experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, data models, and visualizations
- Experience with database administration, reporting, and complex data sets
- Experience identifying and troubleshooting data-quality, application, or reporting issues
- Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements
- Experience supporting system testing and user acceptance testing
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience working with complex data
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Understanding of environmental policy, ecology, coastal and marine ecosystems, fishery habitat restoration, or a related environmental field
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to access applicable government systems and facilities
- Desired: Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Query, DAX, Power Automate, Power Fx, SQL, Microsoft SharePoint, Office tools, Smartsheet, GIS, federal programs, performance reporting, government information systems, technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and user training materials
