About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build systems for content upload, processing, metadata, storage, distribution, and human and AI-assisted review
  • Own features and well-defined projects from initial conversation through production
  • Build reliable, well-tested, maintainable software
  • Learn the platform and understand its users
  • Investigate production issues, fix them properly, and improve systems
  • Work closely with Lead and Senior Engineers through pairing, feedback, and problem solving
  • Experiment with AI agents for writing, testing, and reviewing code
  • Challenge existing ways of working and propose improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A few years of engineering experience
  • Experience building software
  • Strong back-end capability
  • Interest in doing engineering work well
  • Ruby on Rails experience useful; comparable framework experience equally relevant
  • Knowledge of clean code, sensible trade-offs, and testing
  • Ability to investigate and resolve production issues
  • Interest in using AI practically with independent judgment
  • Experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Buildkite, Datadog, Rollbar, or content-heavy systems helpful
  • Appetite to learn quickly and take ownership
