About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead high-quality performance reporting and risk-based assurance work across the Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement Group
- Provide senior leaders and governance groups with clear, evidence-based insights into performance, regulatory outcomes, risks and improvement opportunities
- Design and maintain reporting frameworks, measures and products that turn complex operational and regulatory information into clear conclusions and practical advice
- Lead the design and delivery of agreed risk-based assurance reviews
- Prepare performance and governance reports
- Analyse trends and explain their implications
- Assess policies, standards or agreed requirements
- Present findings and recommendations to leaders
- Support teams to implement and monitor practical improvements
- Connect reporting, assurance and continuous improvement to strengthen accountability, organisational learning and regulatory performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial experience delivering high-quality performance, governance or regulatory reporting in a complex organisation
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering risk-based assurance reviews, audits, evaluations or other structured assessments
- Strong analytical skills, including assessing data quality, identifying trends and gaps, testing assumptions and drawing well-supported conclusions
- Excellent written communication skills and experience turning complex operational, technical or regulatory information into concise insights and practical recommendations
- Experience developing or improving reporting frameworks, performance measures, assurance approaches or quality systems
- Ability to assess evidence against legislation, policy, standards, procedures or other agreed requirements
- Experience identifying systemic issues, monitoring agreed actions and evaluating whether improvements achieved the intended result
- Confidence providing independent and constructive challenge, presenting findings and influencing senior leaders and subject matter experts
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries
- Sound judgement and disciplined approach to accuracy, evidence quality, information integrity and professional documentation
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work with limited supervision
- Experience in a regulatory, public-sector, audit, risk, evaluation or compliance environment would be an advantage
- Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications in assurance, audit, evaluation, data analysis, public policy, risk or performance reporting would be beneficial
