About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a small procurement team
- Provide expert, practical guidance across the procurement lifecycle
- Support the team and wider organisation with higher-risk or less straightforward procurement matters
- Shape procurement strategy and priorities
- Improve procurement planning, processes, systems and contract management
- Build procurement capability across the EPA
- Apply the Government Procurement Rules pragmatically and proportionately
- Tailor procurement approaches to value, risk and complexity
- Lead and develop a collaborative, responsive team in partnership with the wider organisation
Requirements
What you’ll need- demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing others
- experience shaping strategy and improving procurement processes, systems and capability
- experience leading higher-risk, sensitive or less straightforward procurement activities
- strong knowledge of the Government Procurement Rules and sound commercial judgement
- broad experience across procurement and contract management
- ability to provide clear advice and build trusted relationships across the organisation
- recognised procurement qualification, or equivalent professional experience, would be beneficial
