About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, agency billing, and other client-servicing items
- Assist clients with policy coverage questions and identify coverage gaps or additional needs
- Work with Producers to address client service needs
- Renew and retain assigned accounts and conduct renewal processes
- Provide clients with additional coverage options
- Maintain client files and provide office/administrative support
- Maintain carrier relationships and monitor carrier and industry changes
- Establish and maintain client trust through regular contact and prompt issue resolution
- Document activities and meet quality and timeliness standards in the Agency Management System
- Inform and educate clients about coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance needs
- Work with the Placement Department and Producers to transition new business
- Submit renewal applications and supporting documentation and follow up on quotes and policies
- Enter policy information into carrier websites for quote options when needed
- Negotiate premiums and commissions with underwriters and wholesalers
- Present quote options to clients and Producers
- Bind and issue policies or order policies from underwriters
- Set priorities and manage workflow for efficient, accurate processing
- Maintain current client records, workflow tasks, manuals, and required documentation
- Resolve problems and enhance service in a timely manner
- Stay informed about industry trends, products, coverages, legislation, and technology
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Two or more years of experience in a mid-size brokerage or carrier
- Full knowledge of Property Casualty lines of coverage and services
- Experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software
- Advanced knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- California Property & Casualty License
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel independently to clients; some air travel may be required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing tasks
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and oral
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Ability to analyze situations logically and draw solid conclusions
- Ability to work efficiently with or without direct supervision
