About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Mobile Experience, the team behind the Epidemic Sound app
- Own features end-to-end, from identifying opportunities and rapid prototyping through production, measurement, and iteration
- Build polished custom UI in Jetpack Compose
- Work on music and playback functionality
- Maintain app architecture, performance, accessibility, OS updates, API deprecations, and releases
- Contribute to the Kotlin backend-for-frontend, CI, and developer tooling as needed
- Use AI agents in coding and related engineering work
- Help the team identify new applications for AI agents
- Share knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and clear writing
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of professional Android development in Kotlin
- Deep experience with Jetpack Compose, especially complex custom UI
- Good eye for design and polish
- Solid command of Kotlin coroutines and Flow
- Experience shipping and maintaining production apps through platform changes and API deprecations
- Ability to understand and explain performance, accessibility, and architecture
- Hands-on experience with agentic engineering and AI agents
- Ownership of AI-generated work quality
- Initiative and ability to identify and complete work independently
- Experience with audio and playback, ideally Media3 / ExoPlayer
- Experience with Gradle and large multi-module codebases
- End-to-end ownership of shipped features
- Experience with design systems
- Experience building and maintaining CI workflows
- Production experience with Kotlin on the server
- UX design experience in Figma or similar
