About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose and repair light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor trailers
- Perform A-PMs and B-PMs
- Perform BIT and DOT inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance on trailers and limited minor repairs as needed
- Perform preventive maintenance on Class 6–8 diesel engines and other diesel engines
- Use computer diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
- Travel to customer locations to complete repairs and maintenance
- Maintain the service vehicle, tools, and parts inventory
- Manage field service work independently and deliver quality repairs under time pressure
- Support vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of DOT inspections experience
- 3+ years of Mobile Technician experience
- 10+ years of diesel repair experience
- Knowledge of CVSA out-of-service criteria
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to work in changing weather conditions
- Ability to pass a drug/background test
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and no suspensions
- Welding experience preferred to stand out
- Desire to work 10-hour Monday–Friday shifts
- Desire for 10 hours of overtime each week
- Ability to diagnose and repair light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor trailers
- Experience with diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, computer diagnostics, and DOT compliance standards
