About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires
Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components
Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device
Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck
Accurately complete DOT forms and all other documentation in a timely manner

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 5 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
Communication skills
Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays when needed
Valid Driver’s License required.
Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills
Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders, including adding labor hours and updating work order statuses
2 years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Basic computer skills.
Must possess proper tools
High School education or equivalent
Certifications are a plus
Welding experience
Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to work outdoors and under extreme weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity
