About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customers’ commercial tractors.
  • Write detailed work orders for mobile road calls and/or in-yard work.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-trucks, bodies, systems, and components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on fleet semi-trucks.
  • Maintain hubs and axles and adjust or replace them when required.
  • Inspect, service, and replace parts, including tires.
  • Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Test systems and equipment for performance issues.
  • Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements.
  • Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report findings to management.
  • Respond to client queries as soon as possible.
  • Provide mobile preventative maintenance, mechanical repair, tire replacement and repair, and trailer repair and maintenance services for commercial fleets.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of verified experience of Commercial Tractor repair experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 100+ pounds.
  • Basic Computer Skills to submit repairs for billing.
  • Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily tasks.
  • Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders.
  • Experience with welding, certification a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Technical school degree, a plus.
  • Your own tools.
