About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and prospect new fleet, owner-operator, dealer, and insurance-partner accounts within the assigned territory
- Build and maintain relationships with fleet managers, maintenance directors, insurance adjusters, and dealer service teams
- Grow revenue within existing accounts through follow-up, service reviews, and account planning
- Represent Penn Jersey Diesel & Trailer at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
- Conduct on-site inspections of damaged trucks and trailers
- Prepare accurate written estimates covering body, paint, mechanical, and trailer repair scopes
- Photograph and document damage for shop teams, insurance carriers, and customer files
- Negotiate estimate revisions, supplements, and final scopes with insurance adjusters and customer fleet contacts
- Ensure estimates align with actual repair time, parts, and labor
- Partner with shop managers and foremen on scope, sequencing, and repair timelines
- Communicate customer requirements and priorities to the shop team at handoff
- Serve as the primary customer point of contact throughout the repair process
- Meet or exceed monthly revenue targets tied to the commission plan
- Maintain a pipeline of quoted work from initial estimate through close
- Provide monthly and quarterly forecasts to the General Manager
- Track and report account activity, win/loss reasons, and territory trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed, accurate repair estimates and negotiate scopes with fleet customers and insurance adjusters
- Working knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer construction, including body panels, doors, refrigeration units, chassis components, and mechanical systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to and negotiating with senior customer contacts
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work autonomously in a territory-based role
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) suitable for company vehicle use
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck/trailer repair sales, collision/body shop estimating, insurance appraisal, or a closely related field
- Proficiency with estimating software (Mitchell, CCC, Audatex, or similar) and standard office software (email, spreadsheets, CRM tools)
- Existing book of business or established relationships within the Southeast heavy-duty fleet, insurance, or dealer network
- Prior experience selling collision repair, paint, or mechanical services into commercial fleet accounts
- Familiarity with trailer manufacturers (Wabash, Utility, Great Dane, Hyundai) and heavy-duty truck OEMs
- Experience managing an assigned sales territory and monthly revenue quota
