About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Senior Manager of Credit Risk and work closely with Credit Risk Analysts, Associates, and Managers
  • Produce accurate analysis, maintain data integrity, and adhere to internal risk management and governance standards
  • Support understanding of transaction-level and portfolio risk and sound credit risk management practices
  • Assist in automating IFRS 9 controls/checks through AI for audit purposes
  • Assist Credit Risk teams, including Retail Lending Quality Assurance, with enabling AI tools in select functions
  • Analyze customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging risks across acquisition, account management, and fraud risk strategies
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring score monitoring reports, dashboards, KPI tracking, and analytical tools
  • Support development, recalibration, and optimization of credit risk and account management scorecards through quantitative analysis and performance evaluation
  • Perform scorecard performance monitoring using statistical measures
  • Assist in model validation, challenger model testing, and performance assessments under senior team guidance
  • Produce ad hoc analyses, business insights, and management presentations supporting scorecard strategy reviews and model enhancement initiatives
  • Apply analytical techniques, statistical methods, machine learning concepts, and data visualization tools to generate actionable business insights
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Fraud, AML, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Model Risk Management
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical methodologies, model monitoring processes, reporting automation, and decision-support tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Economics, or another STEM-related field
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL and Python, with demonstrated ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with data visualization tools, cloud-based analytics platforms, machine learning, or statistical modelling is considered an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to develop expertise in credit risk, fraud prevention, customer acquisition, and financial services analytics
