About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Report to the Director, Product Development
Work closely with a 14-member team of developers, business analysts, quality assurance specialists, and a senior release coordinator
Design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions for customer needs
Collaborate in an Agile environment
Write robust, efficient, secure code according to functional analyses
Analyze features to meet business and technology needs
Refine requirements based on technical assessment
Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate on functional tests and document current and future features
Ensure overall software quality and its mid- to long-term evolution
Perform scenario testing and quality control against technical specifications
Write reliable code using SOLID software engineering practices
Fix bugs and work on complex issues
Collaborate with different teams to resolve customer issues
Develop Equisoft/centralize, a back-office insurance agency management system connecting carrier feeds, paramedical data, clients, policies, and more

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology or Equivalent College Degree
8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role
Excellent knowledge and experience with Kotlin or Java
Excellent knowledge of SQL
Excellent knowledge of microservice architecture
Good knowledge and experience with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day work, and checking their output before trusting it
Knowledge of GraphQL and REST APIs
Good knowledge of SOLID principles and OOP
Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies
Knowledge of DevOps Azure Pipeline
Knowledge of security challenges with web-based applications
Experience solving complex software engineering problems
Strong organization and prioritization skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
Ability to multitask in a rapid-paced environment
Team spirit, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, rigor, and discipline
