About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support ERM’s global consulting delivery by collaborating across the M&A team to provide Transaction Advisory Services
  • Provide technical advisory services for infrastructure projects in partnership with NA / EMEA regional stakeholders
  • Deliver technical due diligence services for buy-side, sell-side and project-financing deals
  • Conduct technical due diligence of infrastructure assets
  • Identify technical risks and mitigations associated with buy-side and sell-side deals
  • Review business cases and financial models to assess CAPEX and OPEX assumptions
  • Deliver proposals, including company profile, scopes of work, scheduling and commercial terms
  • Successfully deliver large, complex and/or multidisciplinary consulting and technical due diligence projects and project phases
  • Lead projects evaluating proposed investments in infrastructure assets from technical, operational and business-plan perspectives
  • Coordinate Q&A submissions, management sessions, client meetings and report delivery
  • Work across ERM technical communities and with subcontracted subject matter experts to support project delivery and client interaction
  • Complete internal development tasks to improve infrastructure service-line functionality
  • Lead, inspire and mentor personnel for technical-team success
  • Apply ERM practices and policies within the business model
  • Achieve objectives with minimal oversight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A solid academic background with an engineering bias (Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
  • Minimum 7 years of technical consulting, engineering, or operational experience within the energy / infrastructure sectors
  • Strong technical skills and ability to identify risks and opportunities in technical documentation, site visits and technical discussions
  • Excellent organisational skills, self-motivation, self-sufficiency and ability to work successfully in a fast turnaround team environment
  • Ability to promote and execute quality work and ensure high standards
  • Advanced report writing and presentation skills
  • Experience in a client-facing role
  • Experience reviewing contracts and agreements, financial models, designs and specifications, and budgets for industrial projects
  • Experience assessing asset integrity and performance, including HSE, maintenance and availability
  • Ability to manage or assist with complex project delivery and coordinate multiple workstreams into client deliverables
  • Hands-on experience of renewable energy due diligence (Solar, Wind, BESS, Hydro) and energy yield assessment
  • Previous experience in technical due diligence
  • Knowledge of reasonable current CAPEX and OPEX costs for engineering assets/projects
  • Familiarity with decarbonization strategies and technologies
  • Ability to take direction and achieve objectives with minimal oversight
