About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead safe implementation of remediation, construction, decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition projects in the field
- Serve as a resource for project teams, contractors, and clients throughout project execution
- Serve as Field Safety Officer and ensure compliance with project-specific safety requirements
- Support planning, contractor oversight, schedule management, reporting, and quality assurance
- Identify and address project challenges while maintaining alignment with objectives, budgets, and timelines
- Support client engagement, proposal development, interviews, and project contracting activities
- Develop scopes of work and review contractor work plans
- Evaluate scope alternatives and support project cost estimates
- Attend pre-construction interviews, supervise project tasks, and participate in client and progress meetings
- Document project progress, update schedules, perform field safety walks, and prepare project summaries and final reports
- Review contractor submittals, evaluate subcontractor performance, and assist with change order resolution
- Support site investigations and hazardous-material sampling
- Prepare Health & Safety Plans, conduct daily safety briefings, maintain safety records, and investigate incidents and near misses
- Coordinate communication between field personnel and Project Managers
- Support project conformance assessments and implementation of project clarifications and contract interpretations
- Assist with tracking upcoming project requirements and business development initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field, preferably chemical, civil, or structural engineering, with at least 3 years of project experience, or equivalent experience
- Degree in geology, environmental science, occupational health, safety, or industrial hygiene, or equivalent experience
- Equivalency of 7+ years of related experience in lieu of education will be considered
- Experience in heavy construction, demolition, or remediation-specific project execution and health & safety leadership
- Strong commitment to safety and implementation of strict Health and Safety protocols
- Strong initiative, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively amid uncertainty or evolving project requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, technical writing, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel throughout and outside the United States
- Approximately 75% field time on three-week rotations with typically one-week breaks
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle
- Not eligible for immigration sponsorship
- Preferred: engineering degree in chemical, civil, or structural engineering
- Preferred experience supporting complex environmental remediation and demolition projects
- Preferred experience with contractor management, field oversight, and project scheduling
- Preferred experience serving in a field-based health and safety leadership role
