About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive strategic expansion of ERM’s air quality services and client base in the Midwest, focusing on pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and technology sectors
  • Identify new opportunities, craft winning proposals, and build lasting client partnerships
  • Oversee complex air permitting and compliance programs, including NSR, PSD, Title V, NESHAP MACT, EPCRA, and dispersion modeling
  • Guide junior staff and ensure quality deliverables
  • Work with ERM’s global air quality team to share best practices and deliver exceptional results
  • Contribute to ERM’s global strategy through climate and air quality solutions
  • Manage complex compliance and permitting projects
  • Influence strategy and expand ERM’s footprint

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/MS in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental), environmental science, or related field—or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of air quality/compliance consulting experience (7+ years preferred)
  • Proven expertise in Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT compliance
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of securing large contracts
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building abilities
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Established relationships with regulatory authorities and major industrial clients in the Midwest/Southeast preferred
  • Recognized technical reputation in the marketplace preferred
