About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a key Finance contact and trusted partner for Project Managers and Project Directors
- Support project teams in understanding project financial performance
- Provide advice on project financial management and ERM Finance processes
- Identify financial risks and discuss actions with Project Managers
- Monitor revenue, costs, profitability, WIP, AR and project forecasts
- Support project reviews and financial planning
- Review project financial data and identify unusual developments, risks or opportunities
- Support project setup, maintenance and closure throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure project budgets and financial structures align with contractual arrangements
- Support timely and accurate billing and resolve complex billing and project-related issues
- Monitor outstanding matters affecting invoicing, cash collection or project closure
- Act as an escalation and coordination point for complex Order-to-Cash topics
- Support compliance with ERM policies, contractual requirements and local German requirements
- Maintain appropriate financial documentation and audit trails
- Collaborate with Tax, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Pricing, Revenue, Finance Operations and specialist teams
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of ERM’s global Order-to-Cash model
- Identify process gaps and opportunities for simplification or automation
- Help Project Managers adopt new Finance processes, systems and ways of working
- Share feedback with regional and global process teams
- Contribute to training, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Finance community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline
- Relevant experience in project finance, project controlling, commercial finance or financial business partnering
- Strong understanding of project financial management and the Order-to-Cash lifecycle
- Ability to interpret financial information and translate it into clear, practical advice for non-finance colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders constructively
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work in a changing, international environment
- Good understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements
- Experience with ERP/project management and reporting systems is an advantage
- Fluent German and strong English skills
