About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, design, permit, and implement complex civil engineering projects for renewable energy and power sectors
  • Prepare site civil designs, including earthwork, site grading, access roads, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management
  • Prepare land disturbance, construction stormwater, land use, and related permit applications
  • Evaluate field data and perform engineering calculations
  • Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, schedules, and progress tracking reports
  • Conduct field investigations, construction oversight, and quality assurance activities
  • Provide field exploration support for design parameter development and construction quality assurance
  • Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development
  • Develop facility strategies and designs; prepare project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Provide technical expertise on engineering and regulatory issues
  • Participate in project teams and global engineering environments
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers across investigation, risk management, planning, design, and construction disciplines
  • Participate in a center-of-excellence engineering team and oversee implementation
  • Support multidisciplinary project teams and project controls activities
  • Build relationships with engineering and environmental professionals across North America and globally

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering preferred, with a focus on site civil, geotechnical, and environmental applications, or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in place or eligible
  • 1+ years of technical experience in site civil design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D design and experience with ArcGIS
  • Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate and ability to negotiate with state and local regulators
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to research, prepare, and review concise and accurate technical documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support business development activities, including client relationship management and repeat business opportunities
  • Recognized technical expertise and strong professional reputation within the local marketplace
  • Team-building and influencing skills with integrity and professionalism
  • Positive, collaborative mindset and commitment to ERM
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Not eligible for immigration sponsorship
  • Preferred: experience supporting renewable energy and power sector projects
  • Preferred: experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and significant consulting and construction projects
  • Preferred: experience with project controls, labor forecasting, scheduling, and cost estimating
