About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a Senior Consultant (Anthropologist)
  • Work on environmental and social licensing
  • Work with Indigenous Peoples, quilombola communities, and other Traditional Peoples and Communities
  • Lead licensing processes involving relevant government agencies, such as FUNAI, INCRA, and the Palmares Cultural Foundation
  • Prepare and manage specialized studies and programs
  • Prepare and coordinate ECI, PBAI, ECQ, PBAQ, and Free, Prior and Informed Consent processes
  • Conduct social engagement and manage relationships with communities, regulatory agencies, Public Prosecutors’ Offices, civil society organizations, and academic institutions
  • Work at an environmental and sustainability consultancy, creating positive impact for business, society, and the planet

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8 to 10 years of professional experience in environmental licensing and/or social and environmental consulting, including project management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation applicable to Indigenous Peoples, quilombola communities, and other Traditional Peoples and Communities
  • Experience applying Interministerial Ordinance No. 60/2015 and the National Policy for the Sustainable Development of Traditional Peoples and Communities (PNPCT)
  • Experience leading licensing processes involving FUNAI, INCRA, and the Palmares Cultural Foundation
  • Experience preparing and managing specialized studies and programs
  • Experience preparing and coordinating ECI, PBAI, ECQ, PBAQ, and Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) processes
  • Knowledge of the rights of Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities, their own governance systems, and territorial recognition and protection processes
  • Experience in social engagement and relationship management with communities, regulatory agencies, Public Prosecutors’ Offices, civil society organizations, and academic institutions
  • Knowledge of the IFC Performance Standards, particularly PS1 and PS7, the Equator Principles, the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), ILO Convention 169, and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
  • Availability for travel and fieldwork
