About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the preparation of regulatory application packages required for project development in France.
- Support the obtaining of ICPE environmental permits and other administrative authorizations.
- Advise clients on applicable regulatory requirements and constraints.
- Participate in discussions with the relevant authorities.
- Conduct Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) for acquisitions, financing, and project development.
- Identify the environmental and social, regulatory, and operational risks associated with sites.
- Support investors and developers in making strategic decisions.
- Contribute to the development of ERM’s business in France across the infrastructure, industrial, logistics, energy, and data-center sectors.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals with French and international teams.
- Supervise and support junior consultants.
- Contribute to the development of team capabilities.
- Help structure ERM Group methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, energy, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting, regulatory permitting, or industrial/infrastructure project development.
- Demonstrated experience with data-center projects, as well as industrial, energy, infrastructure, or real-estate development projects.
- Strong knowledge of the French regulatory framework applicable to industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Experience with ICPE regulations, environmental impact assessments, or environmental permitting.
- Significant experience managing complex projects.
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
- Professional fluency in English is essential.
- Ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment.
