About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the preparation of regulatory submissions required for project development in France
- Support the acquisition of ICPE environmental permits and other administrative authorizations
- Advise clients on applicable regulatory requirements and constraints
- Participate in discussions with the relevant authorities
- Conduct Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) for acquisitions, financing transactions, and project developments
- Identify environmental and social, regulatory, and operational risks associated with sites
- Support investors and developers in making strategic decisions
- Contribute to the growth of ERM’s activities in France across the infrastructure, industrial, logistics, energy, and data center sectors
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals with French and international teams
- Supervise and mentor junior consultants
- Contribute to the development of team capabilities
- Help structure ERM Group methodologies and best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, energy, or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting, regulatory permitting, or industrial/infrastructure project development
- Demonstrated experience working on data center projects
- Experience with industrial, energy, infrastructure, or real estate development projects
- Strong knowledge of the French regulatory framework applicable to industrial and infrastructure projects
- Experience with ICPE regulations, environmental impact assessments, or environmental permitting
- Significant experience managing complex projects
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Professional proficiency in English is essential
- Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment
