About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for database operations
Support toil identification and toil reduction initiatives for Oracle and PostgreSQL environments
Support the team in building Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible
Improve existing automation, monitoring and operational processes
Identify manual or inefficient processes and propose automation opportunities
Create and update documentation and technical runbooks
Collaborate with experienced SREs, database engineers and infrastructure specialists
Gain practical knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL administration

Requirements

What you’ll need

3rd or 4th year university student, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
Genuine interest in automation, programming and infrastructure technologies
Basic programming/scripting knowledge, preferably Python or Bash
Basic understanding of Linux
Basic understanding of databases and SQL
Willingness to learn and work with enterprise technologies
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to ask for support
Good English communication skills
Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL (nice to have)
Experience with SQL beyond basic queries (nice to have)
Knowledge of Git and version control (nice to have)
Experience with Terraform or Ansible (nice to have)
Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts (nice to have)
Previous experience with automation projects, university projects or personal projects (nice to have)
