About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously
- Develop and maintain project budgets and hold full financial responsibility for assigned work
- Identify, price, negotiate, and execute change orders
- Assist with sourcing, tracking, and delivery of electrical materials, equipment, switchgear, and other components
- Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractor work according to contract schedules
- Process monthly billings by determining percentage of work completed with the Superintendent
- Ensure submittals are submitted, received, corrected, approved, and returned to subcontractors in a timely manner
- Study and understand contract specifications, drawings, and scope of work requirements
- Maintain organized project documentation, specifications, estimates, submittals, and contract drawings
- Prepare statistical and written reports for management using database, spreadsheet, and word-processing software
- Analyze and prioritize information to make recommendations
- Oversee, motivate, and evaluate field employees; coordinate staff training and correct deficiencies
- Make recommendations in hiring and termination processes for field employees
- Prepare letters, reports, and memoranda for government agencies, engineers, architects, and subcontractors
- Act as liaison between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and governmental agencies or clients
- Assist the Project Superintendent with customer and subcontractor relations and field-office communications
- Monitor adherence to company, local, state, and federal safety regulations at job sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum five (5) years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager or in a comparable project management role with an electrical contractor in the commercial and industrial sector
- Knowledge of electrical building systems, design, construction and related management strategies
- Experience selecting and managing vendors
- Skilled at summarizing and analyzing information for budgeting revenues and expenses
- Ability to lead a project team and manage subcontractors
- Ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision
- Able to work independently and with others in a team environment
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical plans, specifications, and single-line diagrams
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project and other project management software programs
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel required
