About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide quality proactive advice and support to Operational leaders and employees on a range of HSW issues
- Analyse and report on workplace incidents, hazards and injuries, as well as trends in the area of responsibility
- Provide strategic advice and direction on complex claims and safety matters
- Ensure incidents are investigated promptly and effectively, with appropriate corrective actions identified and implemented
- Ensure notifiable incidents are reported to the state Regulator and internally as required
- Support the Injury Management Specialist with early intervention of injuries
- Collaborate with the National Health and Safety Manager and HSW team to develop and implement evidence-based risk reduction and improvement programs
- Foster a safety culture through role modelling safe workplace practices, consultation, and identification of workplace hazards and risks
- Travel regularly, around three days per week, to Brisbane and Gold Coast homes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in an WHS and Injury Management/Rehabilitation role, with a proven track record in delivering effective HSW performance results
- A customer service approach
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proactive approach
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage with external and internal stakeholders
- High level planning, time management and prioritising skills
- Demonstrated capability in interpreting and applying relevant WHS and workers compensation legislation
- Required background checks
- Current influenza vaccination during influenza season
