About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of Ethernovia's networking device software stack
  • Develop embedded firmware, kernel/user-mode device drivers, stack extensions, debugging tools, and test utilities
  • Develop firmware that configures, controls, and monitors communication devices and interacts with host systems through device drivers
  • Design and implement device drivers enabling applications, middleware, and operating systems to leverage hardware features
  • Develop automated unit and system tests
  • Build firmware for safety-critical automotive applications while adhering to stringent functional safety standards
  • Follow rigorous safety, quality, compliance, and development practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science/software or a related field
  • Minimum 18+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, including Architecture, Implementation, and Testing fundamentals
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming
  • Extensive experience with firmware, preferably for communication devices like Ethernet
  • Strong experience with embedded firmware, particularly for communication devices like Ethernet
  • Proven experience integrating and testing firmware and low-level code
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and embedded processors, preferably for communication devices
  • Expertise in efficient code practices for code footprint and performance
  • Experience with simulation and emulation platforms
  • Experience with GNU or similar compiler and debugging suites
  • Experience with embedded programming and hardware buses such as I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and USB
  • Experience building automotive or other safety-critical systems using MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262
  • Experience with communication protocols including Ethernet MAC, PHY, Switching, TCP/IP, Security, SerDes, PCIe, NTB, and SR-IOV
  • Experience with video processing standards and protocols
  • Experience with code version control and review tools/processes such as Perforce/Git and Swarm
  • Experience with mixed-signal systems, including Analog, Digital, and DSP
  • Experience with ARM or similar embedded processors
  • Experience with bootloaders such as uboot
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
