About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Carry out CFD simulations assessing airflow, thermal performance, wind conditions, smoke movement, and environmental comfort
  • Work on advanced CFD projects for data centres, wind engineering, and fire safety applications
  • Translate complex CFD outputs into actionable recommendations for clients, architects, and engineering teams
  • Collaborate with Ethos and Simstudio engineers to integrate CFD findings into design strategies
  • Prepare technical reports, visualisations, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to modelling methodologies, QA/QC procedures, and R&D initiatives within the joint CFD team
  • Work in the Dublin office and daily with the Simstudio CFD team in the Netherlands on international projects across Europe and the Middle East

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in CFD analysis within building physics, mechanical systems, or similar applications; exceptional graduates will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles
  • Experience with CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent/CFX, Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) or 6Sigma/DC Design is an advantage
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Structured approach and attention to detail
  • Ability to explain technical results to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work effectively in international, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with enthusiasm for innovation and sustainability
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to quality
