About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design of mechanical building services for data centre projects
- Oversee projects across the EMEA region from initial concept to client handover
- Manage several projects and keep team members on track with deliverables
- Oversee team member development and workload to optimise productivity
- Guide decision-making and problem-solving using extensive discipline knowledge
- Understand client needs and develop strong client relationships
- Understand contract terms and conditions to control scope creep
- Delegate tasks strategically to maximise value and team engagement
- Report progress to the Group Management Team
- Manage project quality control and ensure deliverables meet standards
- Manage resources and optimise allocation and project execution
- Represent Ethos in client meetings
- Train and mentor junior and intermediate engineers
- Promote a positive internal and external message for team morale and company reputation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10+ years of mechanical design experience
- Hold a professional qualification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead projects and take briefs from the project lead on large projects
- Ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritise, and delegate appropriately
- Excellent report writing skills
- Ability to explain complex engineering issues in simple and clear language
- Good understanding of HVAC and building controls
- Experience in the design of plumbing and drainage systems is preferred
- Experience mentoring and training junior and intermediate engineers
- Willingness to attend the Dublin office according to the team's schedule
- Ability to work on data centre developments for major technology firms in Ireland and overseas
