About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage ongoing financial accounting for a dedicated portfolio of clients
Post business transactions and accurately record accounting matters
Support clients in making business decisions by preparing analyses and reports
Prepare VAT advance returns and EC Sales Lists, and submit them to the tax authorities by the applicable deadlines
Monitor deadlines and special requirements, and clarify questions independently or as part of the team
Resolve discrepancies and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers
Keep accounts receivable aging and outstanding-items lists up to date and meaningful
Prepare annual financial statements in collaboration with the year-end accounts team
Support account reconciliations, closing entries, and the compilation of documentation
Prepare analyses and documentation for tax audits
Assist with communication with the tax authorities
Work with DATEV solutions and modern digital processes
Support clients in digitizing their accounting processes and implementing suitable digital solutions
Serve as a contact person for clients on accounting matters
Communicate with clients by phone, video, and in writing
Work closely with colleagues in financial accounting, year-end accounts, and payroll
Share and pass on knowledge and experience within the team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed commercial training, ideally with a specialization in accounting/financial accounting; training as a tax clerk or an equivalent qualification
Experience with DATEV or comparable accounting software
Enthusiasm for digital workflows
Ideally, familiarity with Unternehmen online or similar solutions
Sound knowledge of the fundamentals of double-entry bookkeeping
Knowledge of typical accounting transactions in small and medium-sized enterprises
Confident use of charts of accounts, outstanding-items lists, and financial analyses
Careful and deadline-oriented working style
Ability to keep track of deadlines and tasks for multiple clients
Friendly, clear, and service-oriented communication
Confident manner and a solution- and service-oriented mindset
Team spirit and willingness to pursue professional and digital development
