About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform business process analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of business applications
- Write program code from specifications or outdated application code
- Prepare test plans and test data, run tests, analyze results, and correct code
- Administer and provide technical support for COTS and in-house applications
- Support users, translate business requirements into enhancements, configure and test changes, and maintain system security and permissions
- Coordinate application activities with team members, application owners, and IT
- Collect and process large datasets from various sources
- Develop and maintain databases and data systems
- Create and implement data models and algorithms for data analysis
- Identify trends and patterns to inform business decisions
- Develop and present reports, visualizations, and forecasts to stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into business strategies
- Identify, report, and assist with remediation of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities
- Provide direction to less experienced staff and mentor junior employees
- Lead complex projects involving IT sections, departments, and consultants
- Serve as liaison between IT and Business Support groups
- Report to the Software Engineering Manager of the Rapid Application Development team
- Does not manage staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- US Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent computer-related experience with at least 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience
- Advanced knowledge of software development and database administration principles, theories, standards, practices, and procedures
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and Model-View-Controller architecture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Troubleshooting and testing skills
- Customer service, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
- Experience with ASP.NET (.NET Framework and .NET 8 or later), Blazor, MVC, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, APEX, and Java
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Visual Studio, Toad for Oracle, Denodo, and Power BI
- Knowledge and experience with MSSQL Server and Oracle relational databases
- Experience developing web applications and deploying on Windows Server using IIS
- Knowledge and experience applying secure application development practices
- Experience designing and developing AI/ML automation systems
- Experience designing and developing RAG pipelines using Elasticsearch or similar technologies and LLMs
- Ability to understand and remediate security vulnerabilities
- Ability to solve complex design problems and manage multiple responsibilities
- Expert experience with a broad range of tools and technologies used by NNSS
- Ability to evaluate solutions, deliver maintainable software, use systems engineering approaches, evaluate user requirements, and write technical specifications
- Ability to understand and follow safety, health, quality, policy, legal, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements
- Willingness to obtain an HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential
- Valid driver’s license required
- Pre-placement physical examination, including drug screen, required; subject to random drug testing
- Primary work location is the North Las Vegas Facility on Losee Road
