About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and uphold Etsy's Creativity Standards for items sold on the marketplace
Own policy enforcement and operations, including developing expertise in vertical policies and protocols
Manage and report on enforcement activities
Lead implementation when policies, taxonomy, or workflows change
Drive collaborative projects with Policy, Analytics, Product, and Engineering
Advise on quarterly roadmaps and goals
Lead high-priority investigations and escalations
Coordinate with Policy, Legal, Marketing, Communications, and Brand to resolve policy incidents
Identify emerging abuse trends and conduct data-informed post-mortems and deep dives
Translate findings into solutions for Product and Engineering to reduce Creativity Standards violations
Mentor Enforcement Specialists on trend spotting and data literacy
Own strategic focus areas such as policy/workflow expansion, QA and training, process/tooling improvements, or controls and detection
Monitor operational metrics and meet or exceed KPI and SLA targets
Flag anomalies and partner with Analytics for reliable reporting
Improve enforcement tools and moderation experiences with Product and Engineering
Travel up to 25% for team collaboration, events, or other business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in policy enforcement/Trust & Safety at Etsy or elsewhere in a related industry
Hands-on experience with Trust & Safety tooling and platforms is a plus
Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and projects from inception to completion
Ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners remotely and across geographies
Excellent influencing and communication skills
Proven ability to handle high-stakes situations and manage crisis response effectively
Leadership, resilience, and sensitivity in navigating change and handling sophisticated and/or potentially triggering content
Analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
Expertise in identifying trends, patterns, or emerging problems in data
Proactive approach to improving processes, tooling, and collaboration
Strong accountability, prioritization, communication, expectation setting, and timely delivery
Strong understanding of the creative process and online creative platforms
Ability to work within the stated hybrid/remote arrangement and travel up to 25% of the time
Candidates should be within commutable distance of Etsy's Brooklyn office where possible; remote candidates may be considered case-by-case with occasional office travel
