About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the training subgroup for a complex airspace modernization initiative
- Lead efforts to identify, develop, and coordinate air traffic training requirements associated with program initiatives
- Develop training plans, curricula, and materials supporting new systems, procedures, or operational changes affecting air traffic controllers
- Coordinate with the FAA Academy, field facilities, and subject matter experts to align training content with operational requirements
- Facilitate subgroup meetings and capture action items, decisions, and status updates for program leadership
- Review and validate training materials for technical accuracy and alignment with FAA training standards
- Support training needs assessments and gap analyses for air traffic-related initiatives
- Track subgroup milestones and deliverables, escalating risks and issues as needed
- Prepare status reports and briefing materials summarizing subgroup progress
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior Air Traffic Control training experience in an En Route & Oceanic and/or Terminal operational environment
- 20 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in any field counts for 5 years
- Associate of Arts/Science with 15 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience, or 20 years of ATC active, full performance level experience, in lieu of degree
- 10 years equivalent ATC experience in the U.S. Military or international control environment is acceptable
- Associate’s degree with 10 years of ATC active, full performance level experience, or 15 years of ATC active, full performance level experience, in lieu of degree
- Five years equivalent ATC experience in the U.S. Military or international control environment is acceptable
- Air traffic control technical and operational work experience as a domestic or oceanic air traffic controller in an En Route & Oceanic or Terminal operational environment
- Experience as a senior level air traffic control system specialist assisting the FAA in coordinating activities with air traffic requirements and operations personnel
- Acquisition and program management experience for FAA program offices or similar organizations
- Prior experience consulting within a government contracting environment preferred
- U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. required
- Employees may be required to hold a specific security clearance depending on the work assignment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to be on camera during interviews and assessments
