About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support implementation of the Eversource Gas Quality Control program for construction, maintenance, meter service, leak survey, corrosion, damage prevention, LNG and I&R activities
- Ensure work complies with federal, state and company construction standards, procedures, safety rules and legal requirements
- Direct or stop work when necessary to ensure compliance
- Act as an authorized company representative and make decisions within the assigned area of responsibility
- Ensure safe work practices are implemented according to the Health and Safety Handbook and Contractor Safety Manual
- Verify work follows Gas Distribution construction standards and operating procedures and is performed by qualified personnel
- Verify work packages contain required work procedures, mark-out tickets and mapping information
- Monitor resources associated with the Company’s re-dig program
- Support contractor crew onboarding and verify compliance with the Operator Qualification Plan
- Identify non-compliant conditions and recommend corrective action
- Accurately document inspection results
- Perform activities contributing to the annual gas inspection plan, including random inspections and re-dig program activities
- Support Gas or Electric during ERP or Work Continuation events as assigned
- Drive to job sites and customer premises to conduct audits, training and resolve complex problems
- Analyze, plan, organize, evaluate and document work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, related discipline or equivalent experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience in gas distribution, utility or technical experience preferred
- Knowledge of gas construction and maintenance standards, work practices and procedures, and safety requirements
- Knowledge of assessment and audit protocols and procedures
- Knowledge and use of gas business information and office automation
- Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with MS Office suite and ability to adapt to other PC based software tools
- Valid Motor Vehicle License required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and adverse weather conditions
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds
- Subject to pre-assignment and random drug testing due to safety-sensitive classification
- Must meet the physical demands and work-environment requirements of the role
