About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the team lead with electricity market simulation modeling, data analysis, and industry research
  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts to inform electric transmission development supporting clean energy growth and New England decarbonization goals
  • Track, report, and estimate power sector carbon emissions using simulation modeling and historical data
  • Interface with internal and external experts to gather data and knowledge
  • Support economic analysis focused on production cost and capacity expansion modeling
  • Research, analyze, and document power sector modeling assumptions and simulation results
  • Support carbon flow modeling software development, testing, and implementation
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to economic analysis
  • Provide research and ad hoc data analysis for other Eversource groups
  • Track federal and state clean energy policies and transmission development opportunities
  • Develop reports, prepare presentations, and write procedures
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform emergency restoration assignments when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, Finance, or the equivalent in combined education and experience is required
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of ISO New England wholesale electricity markets or transmission planning procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite, including advanced MS Excel functions such as lookup functions, pivot tables, and Power Query
  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required
  • Must be available for approximately monthly travel between MA/CT/NH
  • Must be available for occasional travel outside the service area, such as Washington, DC
  • Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered
  • Ability to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a third day determined by the employee and supervisor
  • Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed or if policy changes
