About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and analyze high-voltage and extra-high-voltage electric transmission lines on the Eversource Energy Transmission System
- Develop and prepare drawings, specifications, reports and estimates for transmission capital projects, maintenance support and other analyses
- Use Power Line Systems software packages and other engineering tools
- Interact with Transmission System Planning, Siting & Permitting, Project Management, Real Estate and other Transmission Business functions
- Cooperate with vendor resources
- Participate in studies and provide or support testimony before the Connecticut Siting Council, Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board and other regulatory agencies
- Provide engineering and technical expertise in identifying, analyzing and resolving increasingly complex problems
- Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor work activities
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
- Conduct engineering studies and complete non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight
- Independently manage project schedules and interfaces
- Develop positive working relationships and coordinate work activities
- Maintain accurate records and files
- Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally
- Respond to emergency situations outside normal responsibilities, work hours and location when assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, preferred
- 0-3 years related experience is required
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Occasional to significant travel by car may be required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Eversource will not offer immigration-related sponsorship; applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment will not be considered
- Proficiency or extensive use of PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, TOWER, L-Pile, MFAD, EPRI EMF Workstation, Math CAD, AutoCAD and other engineering software
