About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support electric system operators by optimizing the distribution system using DMS advanced functionality, including AFR, LVM, Planned Outage Study, and DER/Load Forecasting
  • Develop expertise in ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/Var Optimization, and load shedding
  • Collaborate with system operations control centers, IT, and engineering resources on DMS functionality and enhancements
  • Support specification and configuration of DMS advanced applications, including FLISR, LVM, AFR, and Load and Generation Scheduling
  • Review and assess grid operations technology options and support competitive procurement processes
  • Develop tools and methods to process and organize data for engineering models and databases
  • Support multidisciplinary teams across three states in implementing grid operations technology programs
  • Engage with external counterparts, vendors, and stakeholders to promote industry best practices
  • Support technology reviews, project budgeting, scope and schedule definition, project management, reporting, tracking, and stakeholder engagement
  • Research and develop plans for grid modernization opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Course or experience in Power Systems is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and remain self-directed
  • Customer-driven with initiative and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate team effectiveness
  • Occasional travel throughout the service territory when teleconference is not an option
  • Availability to work weekends and off hours may be required
