About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, analyze, evaluate, and prepare reports and documents supporting the Benefits Strategy team
  • Lead and coordinate annual ERISA plan audits and SOX controls for benefits programs
  • Complete compliance activities, including annual benefit plan audits and SOC-1 vendor report reviews
  • Serve as primary liaison to external financial statement and SOC report auditors
  • Coordinate auditor data requests with functional areas
  • Reconcile pension payments and censuses and oversee benefit plan tie-outs and reconciliations
  • Document and implement new controls when applicable
  • Review draft financial statements and footnotes and validate disclosures
  • Coordinate documentation for Form 5500 filings and file extensions for certain benefit plans
  • Drive resolution of audit findings and own remediation plans
  • Lead annual SOC 1/SOC 2 report reviews for benefits-related vendors
  • Map complementary user entity controls and capture evidence
  • Track bridge letters, penetration test summaries, and cyber questionnaires
  • Oversee SLAs, operational exceptions, and corrective action plans with vendors, recordkeepers, and TPAs
  • Monitor emerging SOX- and IRS-related compliance trends affecting HR
  • Assist with benefit plan bill payment approval
  • Perform financial, benchmarking, and claims-data analyses for benefits projects
  • Provide rate case analytical support
  • Perform other tasks or projects assigned by the Benefits Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • No immigration-related sponsorship is offered; applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment will not be considered
  • Ability to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a third day determined by the employee and supervisor
  • Ability to work up to five days in the office if needed or if policy changes
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Three (3) plus years related experience with exposure to or knowledge of Finance and employee benefits preferred
  • Knowledge of employee benefits; CEBS certification a plus
  • Knowledge of Accounting and Financial Systems
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills
