About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute transmission interconnection projects under the ISO New England-administered Tariff pursuant to Schedules 22, 23, and 25
- Communicate key project attributes to external and internal stakeholders to support successful interconnection to the Eversource Transmission Grid
- Coordinate multiple interconnection projects and internal related projects
- Develop and administer contracts and enabling agreements with business counterparts
- Interpret transmission system planning study results at a high level
- Interpret power flow simulations as applicable
- Report to senior management
- Participate in lessons learned and process improvement initiatives
- Organize, manage, and drive completion of project deliverables in a matrix environment
- Represent Transmission positions with Eversource, ISO-NE, and regulatory organizations
- Schedule, plan, and manage complex projects
- Negotiate complex technical and business issues with multiple parties
- Respond to emergency situations and perform emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Baccalaureate degree in engineering, power systems or related technical degree
- 3-5+ years utility experience required, including general management, lead or project management experience
- Working knowledge of the generator interconnection process for ISO-NE or similar RTO/ISO
- Ability to manage multiple interconnection projects simultaneously and coordinate with internal and external parties
- Knowledge of ISO-NE tariff schedules 22 and 23 for generator interconnections
- Understanding of substation, transmission line, and protection and control concepts
- Ability to read basic electrical one-line diagrams
- Ability to interpret transmission system planning study results
- Strong negotiation, verbal and written communication, formal presentation, relationship-building, and leadership skills
- Ability to schedule, plan, and manage complex projects
- Ability to understand regulatory and legislative requirements and proposals
- Knowledge of energy delivery power systems
- Experience negotiating with external companies and representing business interests to regional or industry organizations
- Experience developing written proposals and presentations in a team environment
- Experience implementing and complying with engineering and construction guidelines
- Valid motor vehicle license required
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
- Must be available to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire
- Must be able to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays; able to work five days in the office if needed or if policy changes
