About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gain hands-on experience in the energy industry as an Engineering Intern
- Contribute to engineering projects, innovative solutions, and team initiatives
- Participate in immersive learning, leadership exposure, coaching, and training
- Engage with senior leaders through “Our Business, Our Future”
- Complete skill-building sessions through LinkedIn Learning and Energy Toastmasters
- Participate in discussions covering clean energy and customer experience
- Support volunteer opportunities, career exploration, networking panels, and the Intern Showcase
- Work in assignment areas including substation design, protection and control, telecommunications, substation technical engineering, transmission lines, capital projects, system planning, distribution engineering, and grid modernization
- May be assigned emergency restoration work outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current student pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar engineering field, depending on assignment area
- Electrical Engineering preferred for Substation Design, Protection & Control, Telecommunications, Substation Technical, Grid Modernization, and some Distribution Engineering assignments
- Civil Engineering preferred for Transmission Line Engineering
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred for Capital Projects and System Planning
- Applicants requiring immigration-related visa sponsorship to start employment will not be considered
- Must be interested in working in Eversource’s Connecticut locations
