About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support implementation of Eversource’s Gas Quality Control program for construction, maintenance, meter service, leak survey, corrosion, damage prevention, LNG and I&R activities
  • Ensure work complies with federal, state and company construction standards, procedures and safety requirements
  • Direct or stop work when necessary to ensure compliance
  • Act as an authorized company representative and make decisions within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Ensure safe work practices are implemented
  • Verify work is performed according to Gas Distribution construction standards and operating procedures by qualified personnel
  • Verify work packages contain required procedures, mark-out tickets and mapping information
  • Monitor resources for the Company’s re-dig program
  • Support contractor crew onboarding and verify compliance with the Operator Qualification Plan
  • Identify non-compliant conditions and recommend corrective action
  • Document inspection results accurately
  • Perform gas quality control activities, including random inspections and re-dig program activities
  • Support Gas or Electric during ERP or Work Continuation events as assigned
  • Drive to job sites and customer premises to conduct audits, training and resolve complex problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in gas distribution, utility or technical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of gas construction and maintenance standards, work practices and procedures, and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of assessment and audit protocols and procedures
  • Knowledge and use of gas business information and office automation
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite and ability to adapt to other PC-based software tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications
  • Must not require immigration-related sponsorship to start employment with Eversource
  • Availability to work emergency restoration assignments as required
  • Availability to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
